Stir up some delicious food while learning multiple cooking techniques and tools: two-burner stoves, whisperlight backpacking stoves, canister stoves, and/or dutch ovens. Find your way on your next outdoor adventure in the backcountry with various skills and strategies using maps, GPS, and compass tools. You’ll learn about resources as to what type of map is needed and where to obtain maps, both paper and digital, to plan your travels in the backcountry. Map reading skills will be presented and students will become familiar in class with both GPS and compass navigational tools. Skills learned in the classroom will then be practiced in the field during the day long outing.
