Description
This is an introductory course into complex restorative dentistry. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the interrelationship between occlusal principles and the restorative process, treatment sequencing the multi-disciplinary case and the proper application of restorative materials. Specifically, students will be introduced to a rationale for the utilization of centric relation as a treatment position and gain experience in identifying and recording this position in the clinical setting. They will be introduced to a protocol for performing a trial equilibration and a diagnostic wax-up, both as important tools in helping to achieve more predictable and esthetically pleasing treatment outcomes.
