Description
Provides the basic introduction and overview of management of public lands and natural resources. Topics typically include the history of the public lands, allocation of authority within the federal government and between federal and state governments, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the six major resource areas: minerals, timber, range, wildlife, water, recreation, and preservation. Throughout the course, the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of natural resource policy and conflicts will be examined.
