Description
The purpose of this hybridized (online and in-person) course is to develop grant writing skills in the field of rehabilitation research. The necessary vocabulary and knowledge to effectively determine the appropriate funding targets to pursue the student’s ideas will be explored. The specific aims and research strategy components required to apply for a NRSA pre-doctoral fellowship (F31) award, or other small research grant programs, will be the focus with a series of tutorials and “workshops”. The aims and research strategy components will reflect the student’s dissertation research project. When coupled with content from RHSCI 7500, a graduate seminar course, an actual proposal in collaboration with the student’s mentor(s) is expected to clearly enhance the individual’s potential to develop into a productive, independent rehabilitation research scientist.
