SW 7140 - Theory, Practice, and Assessment in Social Work Education

The purpose of this course is to assist you in developing a beginning philosophy and a framework for teaching and to learn teaching skills and strategies. The course is designed to provide opportunities for developing knowledge, skills, and frameworks that can increase teaching effectiveness. This required course enables doctoral students to become familiar with social work education and its impact on the future development of the social work profession. While the emphasis is on teaching in social work education programs, the content will be relevant to other roles including those of community educator, workshop facilitator, and supervisor.
