BMI 6039 - Biomedical Text Processing Foundations

This course is an applied introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP) in the biomedical domain. The course will provide students with working knowledge of NLP. Students will gain familiarity with the fundamental concepts of general NLP and common NLP tasks, as well as their applications in the biomedical domain. Students will be exposed to biomedical NLP frameworks, ontologies, and resources. This course aims at knowledge and clinical application, and is tailored to students with minimal or no programming experience.
