LLART 333 - Botanical Sketching and Relief Printing

Combine your love of plants and printmaking! Start by learning techniques for observational drawing using plants and flowers as your subjects. With those skills under your belt, you'll spend the remaining class sessions at Saltgrass Printmakers exploring the basics of relief printing, also known as linocut. You'll transfer your drawing to linoleum, carve it using special gouging tools, and roll out ink with a rubber brayer to print your image on paper. The special fee includes all the printmaking tools you'll need for class, some of which will be yours to keep for your future printmaking adventures! With this skill set, you will be prepared to print designs for stationery, fine art, clothing patterns, and more.
