LLART 415 - Pastel Drawing: An Introduction

Soft pastels are a dry, pure pigment that allows you to create colorful, expressive marks with beautiful soft effects. They can be used alone or with other mediums such as water. You'll start by learning value, color layering, and combining pastels with water. You'll also learn how to protect and frame these pieces. Then, in the last 3 classes, you will bring an 8x10 reference photo as your instructor guides you through creating your own unique pastel masterpiece.
