OSHER 851 - Women in World War II

There are 365,000 reasons to attend this lecture, and every one of them is a woman who put on a uniform and served our country in World War II. Most Americans are unfamiliar with the names Dorothy Turner Johnson, Virginia Hall, Jacqueline Cochran, Oveta Culp Hobby, and countless other women who, with a total absence of fanfare and self-promotion, played a vital role in achieving victory in World War II.
