OSHER 835 - Poetry Potluck

Reading poetry in the privacy of your home is great, but hearing it as part of a small and friendly audience is better! In this course, each participant will select a poem to share with the class each week -- memorization encouraged but not required. Weekly themes, such as love, war, dogs, or baseball, will point us to a surprising smorgasbord of poems -- some pinnacles of the canon, yes, but others light, new, and experimental. Along the way, we will shed our nervousness, sharpen our speaking and listening skills, and develop our poetic palates.
