Description
This course focuses on the unique constitutional, statutory, and practical facets of federal criminal practice regarding investigation, charging, discovery practice, evidentiary issues, plea negotiations, trial, and sentencing.  This course is geared toward those who have been selected or are considering applying for (1) the United States District Court’s Mentor Program (a paid placement working as paralegals with Criminal Justice Act Panel/Attorney Members) or an internship/externship with (2) the Federal Public Defenders or (3) the United States Attorney’s Office. This class will also help students prepare to apply for CJA Panel Membership themselves through the United States District Court’s Second Chair Program.
