Description
In the middle of the twentieth century, a new set of visual architectural ideas appeared in Utah. Collectively termed Modernism, they represented a radical shift from the traditionalist architectural values that had dominated the landscape. In this class, we will assess Modernism's impacts on Utah architecture through lectures and brief walking tours. We will examine Modernism in the community, on campus, and in religion. We will conclude by looking at Modernism's lasting impacts on the Utah landscape.
