PRTL 1120 - 001 NR-Outdoor Cooking&Camp
Attendance at a first class meeting via Zoom at 6pm (MST) on May 27th is mandatory. Drops not possible after the 2nd day following this meeting. Curriculum will regard topics related to outdoor cooking basics, camping, risk management, environmental conservation, and natural resource management. There is no field trip; all assignments will be turned in via Canvas. An optional outdoor activity may be included in this course, depending on local/state/federal directives. Students must complete all assignments by June 30, 2020. Student learning outcomes will be achieved through a variety of mechanisms, including cooking recipes geared specifically for the outdoors, reading engaging texts, and learning about Leave No Trace ethics. Students will learn about the basics of landscape photography, and the technical aspects of using a DSL and digital post processing. In addition, students will learn about risk management concerns relevant to outdoor photography. There will be outdoor photo assignments which may be limited to your neighborhood, depending on local/state/federal directives. Students must complete all assignments by June 30th, 2020.
