DENT 7940 - Dental Service Learning IV

The course will focus in connecting the traditional classroom experience with the real life lessons that come through service. Service learning educational approach balances formal instruction and direction with the opportunity to serve in the community in order to provide a pragmatic, progressive learning experience. This course will provide a series of exercises to allow students to reflect on their service experiences in order to grow in character, in problem-solving skills, and in an understanding of civic responsibility. Each year, D4 students will participate in hours of service, the course director will participate in the organization and will approve the events that will provide credit to the students. At the end of the course each student will submit an essay.
