ENGL 5792 - Literary Secrets

This course considers the central role of secrecy and disclosure in literature and literary theory. Topics may include: the secret in ancient tragedy; the image of the detective; theories of interpretation; the relationship between secrets in literature and secrets in social life; the ethics of concealment and revelation.
