Description
Graduate students should register for ECON 6560 and will be held to higher standards and/or additional work. The impact of economic development on the gender inequalities in work, control over resources, and well-being outcomes in the global South. Using the lens of feminist economics and based on an overview of the policy-oriented field of gender and development, the course analyzes how gender inequalities are affected by macroeconomic policies, including structural adjustment programs, and processes of globalization. Evaluates policies and strategies for reducing gender inequalities and promoting well-being of all people.
