SW 3726 - Intermediate Professional Development (Ethics and Skills)

This course will build upon the skills taught in Introduction to Professional Development and expand upon the job skills necessary to function as a counselor in a chemical dependency treatment setting. The skills examined will include interviewing skills and techniques, individual and group counseling, client advocacy and crisis and detoxification counseling. This course will provide a strong working knowledge of the ethical standards required of a substance use disorder counselor.
