This community engaged learning course is for students who have accepted a spot on any of the following Alternative Breaks experiences for Spring 2020: Animal Advocacy & Rehabilitation, Coastal Ecosystem Restoration, Community Health, Defeminizing Poverty, HIV & AIDS, Homelessness, Hunger and Food Justice, Immigration, Indigeneity, Marine Conservation, Queering Justice, Urban Environmentalism. After making your down payment for the trip, please contact J Swanger, Alternative Breaks Coordinator, for an add permission code so you can register for the course through CIS. With the exception of the dates below, the course has no set meeting time. Students are expected to attend pre-trip meetings and other program requirements which will be scheduled by the student Site Leader and Staff/Faculty Partner and communicated to all trip participants. Mandatory dates of participation: • Alternative Spring Break: early morning Saturday, March 7, 2020 through late evening Saturday, March 14, 2020. • Spring Reorientation Event: Friday, April 3 from 4-6pm (location TBA). Tuition fees for the course are in addition to participation fees paid directly to the Bennion Center’s Alternative Breaks program.
