MUSC 6390 - Materials and Methods of Advanced Jazz Improvisation

Advanced techniques and practices of jazz improvisation, as well as a review of pedagogical resources. The course also focuses on playing, listening, chord./scale relationships, and transcribing. It includes tune analysis and contemporary performance practices including the use of synthetic scales and free improvisation.
