Description
What does it mean for something to be "right" or "wrong"? In this class students will learn several philosophical perspectives on ethics (e.g. Kant's categorical imperatives, utilitarianism, social contract theory) and understand the role that games can play as tools for ethical reasoning. Students will also understand how to analyze the impact that games can have on individuals and society, the broader implications of the values and politics embedded in games, and how digital entertainment poses complex ethical challenges for industry professional as well as casual users.
