Description
This course will continue the SOM Health Promotion and Integrative Health track by delving deeper into content. The Science of Health domain serves as the foundation by providing background science, skills to identify the best evidence, and an overview of lifestyle medicine and integrative therapies. The Provider Wellness domain introduces students to themes of self-care, resilience, and modeling health behaviors. The Patient Engagement domain provides students with skills to work with their patients and communities to improve health behaviors and outcomes. The Teams and Communities domain expands the focus on health, wellness and prevention to interprofessional teams, health systems, local communities and populations. Through this elective students will have the opportunity to continue to explore the pathway with sessions from each domain. The course will provide one half credit hour towards graduation.
