Description
This is a structured experience for qualified students to learn how to conduct health communication research within an interdisciplinary team context. It provides an overview of research findings and methodological approaches to health communication issues including patient-provider, health care systems, and social media. Readings and discussions will cover research ethics related to the study of communication and interdisciplinary research issues. Finally, this course is designed to be a hands-on experience with students in interdisciplinary teams analyzing existing datasets. Students may enroll for practicum credit the following semester to continue working with their interdisciplinary team and complete projects under instructor supervision.
