Description
A watershed is an area of land that catches water, stores it, and then releases it. Utah has ten major watersheds. Learn about the watersheds in Utah with this online course with field trips to watersheds in the Uinta Basin and the Great Salt Lake. Online content was developed by Utah Master Naturalist program and is delivered in three modules. Online material can be completed at your own pace and is supplemented with field trips, which are spent almost entirely outdoors. Walking will be required. Since the focus of this course is watersheds, we have tentatively planned the following field trips: 1. 9/21: Upper Provo River at Soapstone Campground in the Uintas 2. 9/28: Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter 3. 10/05: Great Salt Lake at Antelope Island Students are required to find their own transportation to and from the trip locations. Wear appropriate clothing and walking shoes.
