OSHER 970 - Drawing and Painting the Horse

This unique three day workshop will be a combination of studio and fieldwork including presentations (slide show of master works,) demos, and one-on-one instruction as students practice drawing and/or painting from live horses and in the studio from reference material. We will discuss basic anatomy, drawing and painting fundamentals, and technique, including light, shadow, proportion, landmarks, etc. Students should bring to the first class 60-70# drawing paper, 9 X 12 or larger (loose leaf with clipboard or spiral bound sketch book); 6b - 9b pencils; kneadable eraser; folding chair (Sept. 25 only); and any preferred painting materials.This class will include a trip to the This Is The Place Monument's horse stables; a charge of $5.00 for entry into the park will be collected by the instructor on the day of the field trip.
