Description
The remote phenomenon that once was ISIS has grown to become the focus of U.S. military operations in the Middle East. As ISIS' military fortunes have recently waned, its leaders have attempted to bring new life into their organization. Today ISIS continues its program of ruthless murder and fundamentalist, anti-Western, and often anti-Islamic, propaganda. Students will learn about the formation of ISIS, how it grew, and what it sees as its destiny. We will study the powers who claim to oppose ISIS and examine the probable future of the region. This is a repeat of last fall's course, but with updated resources and developments which have occurred since then.
