HIST 3580 - Premodern Southeast Asia

This course is a survey of Southeast Asian History through the mid-1800s, covering the region's major political, social, and religious changes. Topics covered include: the enduring mythology of the Spice Islands, the interplay between Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity, and the rise of colonial powers across Southeast Asia.
