OSHER 33 - Shakespeare: The Problem Plays

Shakespeare wrote dramas in several modes. The "problem plays" cannot be classified as comedy, tragedy, or history. Each addresses a very problematic circumstance and deals with a human, confrontational and emotional matter. The plays end neither happily nor tragically. They are set in a variety of locations and times. We will survey six plays over six meetings: Measure for Measure; All's Well that Ends Well; Troilus and Cressida; Cymbeline; Timon of Athens; and Titus Andronicus.
