OSHER 936 - What is a Camera & What is a Photograph?

This class will begin with a brief discussion about the evolution of photography in the 20th and 21st Centuries. We will consider the cameras we grew up with and the cameras we have now. Were they better then or now? Is film better than digital? What are the basic elements of a camera? The following sessions will focus on how you can make better photographs, and what elements can be combined to make a decent photograph good, or a good photograph great. Each week there will be an easy homework/photography assignment that will be discussed with the class the following week.
