Prerequisites: "C-" or better in ((WRTG 2010 OR EAS 1060 OR HONOR 2211) OR AP English >=4) AND Full Major status in Mechanical Engineering.
Corequisites: "C-" or better in (ME EN 3300 OR ME EN 3230).
Description
This course prepares students for writing and communication efforts specific to their careers in mechanical engineering. Students will develop written and oral communication skills through writing assignemnts of varying lengths and oral presentations. The communicaiton mephasis is on delivering information in a clear, concise and easily consumable fashion. Students will learn to produce different types of technical communications, tailor messages to different audiences, provide peer reviews and work collaboratively. Critical thinking, teamwork, ethical considerations and organizational issues of engineering organizations will also be addressed.
