Description
Study with master weaver Anne Carroll Gilmour, known for her Scottish Tartans and unique designs. You will learn about 3 different traditional weaving styles: the ancient art of tablet (or card) weaving, tapestry techniques, and the multi-shaft technique. Using pre-strung looms students will measure, warp and weave a colorful 4-thread card woven strap. You will also receive more in-depth instruction in the warping process which is helpful to would-be weavers who wish to study more advanced multi-shaft weaving techniques in the future. Each student will need to bring a good pair of scissors to each class. Special fee covers all materials and rental of Inkle style looms. Class is limited to 8, and students must enroll by Thursday March 10th.
