Description
The impact of the Civil War on the North and the South is well known. Songs from that period told stories about sadness, hope, love and, above all, soldiers feelings during and after the war. We will explore many songs sung by both sides of the conflict, focusing on the meaning conveyed by and to the general population and, in particular, to Confederate and Union soldiers. Knowing the stories behind the lyrics makes the music even more compelling. Join us for this unique perspective on history of the Civil War.
