OSHER 781 - GPS and Garmin BaseCamp

Expand your GPS navigation basics by learning to manage your outdoor activities' waypoints and tracks using Garmin's "BaseCamp" web-based program. Basecamp is a free program that runs on both a Mac and PC. BaseCamp lets you plan outdoor activities, organize your data, and share your adventures with others. Participants will use BaseCamp to plan their next hiking, biking, driving or off-roading trip. Learn how to view maps, plan routes, mark waypoints and tracks from your computer and then transfer them to your GPS unit. Bring your own GPS and download cable to class. GPS units are provided for use during the class if you don't have one. Either the GPS and Google Earth class or equivalent knowledge is required.
