Discover one of Salt Lake City’s hidden treasures The Organ Loft at Edison Street Events, home to an historic five keyboard Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. You’ll learn about the theatre pipe organ and its history, watch as the organist demonstrates both the music and the special effects that can be produced by this one-of-a-kind instrument, and about founder Lawrence Bray’s interest in preserving this tradition. After the talk, stay to watch one of the all-time classics of horror – The Phantom of the Opera (1925) – and be mesmerized by the soundtrack as it is performed live on the mighty organ. Film tickets are included. There will be a 45 min break between the conclusion of the talk and the start of the film.
