HONOR 3820 - Critical Landscapes: Land Use in Contemporary Art

This interdisciplinary course on images, place, and people will explore land use and photographic practices in Utah through a close examination of photographic archives, artist interventions, and contemporary surveillance projects. The course will involve lectures, discussions, written assignments and hands-on exploration of images and image making. A central component of the course will be an intensive workshop during Fall Break at the Rio Mesa Field Station in southeastern Utah.
