Description
Meets with BMI 6010. Graduate course in healthcare (nursing and biomedical) informatics. This course provides an overview of basic concepts for specialty practice in informatics. These core concepts include foundational theory and practical application of clinical decision making; computerized decision support; healthcare systems and their organizations; the special issues of administration, security, and operations of electronic records in the healthcare setting; human factors issues; information science in the healthcare domain; imaging informatics; telehealth technology; public health informatics; standards, terminologies, and the uniqueness of biomedical data; and a special focus on emerging technologies. (Required for all nursing informatics and biomedical informatics graduate students.)
