Description
The eloquence of Abraham Lincoln defined the purpose and aims of the country during the Civil War. The waging and winning of that war called forth other important qualities including vision, intelligence, resolution, shrewdness, and tenacity. In the process Lincoln, with little or no military or executive experience prior to becoming President, became arguably not only the nation's greatest president, but also its greatest commander-in-chief.
