OSHER 507 - Hand-building Ceramics: Hump and Slump Molding

Many of us immediately think of a pottery wheel when we think of ceramics. Some may even have memories of trying to center that darn lump of clay! Hand building opens the world of ceramics to anyone with a rolling pin and a table. We will create shallow forms such as plates, platters, and bowls with slabs. We will decorate our forms with texture before glazing and high firing. All ware will be oven, microwave, and food safe. Special fee includes one bag of clay and use of studio tools and materials. Open studio time is available for working on projects outside of class.
