HIST 3470 - History of South Africa

This course focuses on the history of South Africa from ancient times to the present. We will use South African history to explore African and European empires, socioeconomic inequality, racism and race relations, ethnic nationalisms, transitional democracy, restorative justice, and the global HIV/AIDS epidemic. No prior knowledge of South African history is required.
