Description
This course focuses on content, theories, and practices underlying the teaching of mathematics, technology, natural and social science teaching in early childhood (PreK-K) classrooms. Students develop awareness of key concepts for young children from the disciplines of mathematics and the sciences, as well as knowledge of children's growth and learning in these areas. This class is a curriculum planning class. This class integrates basic skill development (math, technology, natural and social sciences - core content areas - with creative learning strategies. This interactive course provides students with a practical framework for building effective and meaningful curriculum for young children. Students will study, participate in and practice methods in planning and implementing an integrated PreK-K curriculum.
