Description
This is the first of two courses, and explores the philosophical questions and research paradigms shaping qualitative methods of social inquiry. Students will examine various paradigms used in qualitative research, such as constructivism, critical theory, and participatory frameworks, as well as different methodological strategies and approaches. Students will develop and propose a pilot field project using qualitative methods that will be completed the following semester in SW 7513.
