ENGL 3400 - Introduction to Teaching Language Arts

This course will prepare prospective teachers for the kinds of writing that they will teach to their own high school students: literary essays, research papers, personal narratives, persuasive writing, and argument. They will engage in writing workshops, peer reviews, and other approaches to writing. The course will also teach functional grammar and will introduce students to the teaching of grammar. Students taking this course are required to participate in community engaged learning outside the classroom.
