Description
Frank Lloyd Wright is often spoken of as the quintessentially "American " architect. From classical training, he moved to a style that valued, above all, how a building fit into the natural landscape. Although his houses were sometimes criticized as being structurally flawed, they were also eminently livable. This class will give students a basic understanding of Wright's background, work, and role in American architecture, and the ebb and flow of his broad career ranging from 1887 through his death in 1959.
