YEHS 106 - Crafting College Admissions Essays (Age 15-18)

In the August calm before the September storm, join Higher Ground for a creative writing class guaranteed to be a boon to students looking to enhance their writing skills for the upcoming school year and get a head start on their college applications. Students will learn specific strategies to get over the hump of starting a writing assignment, and to write more confidently and creatively. Students will look closely at poetry, spoken word, and fiction, and use this insight to gain ground in their college applications. All students, regardless of their writing level, ability, or confidence are welcome to enroll in the workshop. Advanced writers will be accounted for and pushed to succeed in ways appropriate for their needs, with customized reading assignments and writing prompts.
