ECS 6634 - Foundations of Bilingual Bicultural and Dual Immersion Education

Meets with ECS 5634. A critical examination of the foundations of bilingual bicultural and dual immersion education and language issues in schools and communities, including legislation, court action, research in language learning, different language education program types (i.e. ESL, transitional, bilingual maintenance, and dual immersion education models, including Utah's dual immersion model), and an overview of bilingual bicultural and dual immersion instructional practices. Students enrolled in 6634 will be expected to meet a higher standard of performance and may be assigned additional work.
