Description
The integration of heterogeneous bioinformatics and clinical data sets is a requisite to analysis. The integration can be time consuming and error prone. Interoperable Biomedical Informatics grid systems are now in use, which integrate data both semantically and syntactically. The goal of such systems is to organize bioinformatics data for seamless data analysis within and between researchers, labs and institutions. We will focus on using such systems to analyze publically available bioinformatics data sets. Grid technology and the machine learning analysis will be used in conjunction with clinical and bioinformatics data sets to create and assess classification models developed by the students in the class.
