GEOG 5275 - Vegetation and Climate Change

Meets with GEOG 6275. Graduate students should enroll in GEOG 6275 and will be held to higher standards and/or more work. Plants move. Long-term vegetation studies using plant fossil remains permit reconstruction of past vegetation communities. During the last 21,000 years nearly all plant species have "migrated" to new locations in response to changing environments. This course will focus on the history of plant movements and adaptation to climate change and disturbances since the last ice age.
