LLFW 412 - Palette to Palate: New Trends in Art and Wine

Often nuanced, sometimes bold, and always intriguing, both art and wine evolve to reflect contemporary influences- environmental conditions, global connections, new styles and innovations. In this class, Art Historian Laura Hurtado will guide participants through a tour of six examples of modern and contemporary art, including new UMFA acquisitions and works on temporary display. Then certified sommelier Michael Roussin will guide a parallel exploration by deciphering the influences and flavors of six contemporary wines, including wines from emerging regions and wines developed with new innovative methods. Light refreshments will accompany the wine tasting. Sure to be an eye- and palate- opening experience. Please bring a photo ID that indicates your age.
