Description
This course examines religion and religiosity in the USA and the Middle East. It considers historical, economic, and political settings such as the emergence of monotheism, nationalism, and terrorism in which these two concepts are used, or abused, for the real or perceived benefit of involved parties. The course will provide students with a better understanding of relationships between Islam, Christianity and Judaism in the Middle East and the USA, and those who represent or misrepresent them to the general public.
