Description
This course is an approach for conducting research that involves the community as an active member in all phases of the research process. While not a methodology in and of itself, Community Engaged Research is a framework that brings collaboration between community and academics together to produce research that considers the complexity of people's lives, thus producing results that are relevant to the population being studies. The course will cover the principles of Community Engaged Research, partnership development, cooperation, and negotiation, and important Community Engaged Research methodologies, such as Community-Based Participatory Research and qualitative methods.
