Description
Fundamentals of stress, strain, and linear elasticity, basics of seepage in porous media. Development of elementary finite element modules for analysis of stress & steady state seepage. Outlines of other numerical models, e.g., boundary element, and discrete element methods and associated advantages. Use of small finite element programs & commercial codes for program validation and problem solving.
